2 oz of tequila
1 oz of fresh lime juice
1 oz of orange liqueur
Salt for rimming the glass
PREPARATION:
Step 1:
Start by rimming the glass. Take a small plate and pour some salt onto it. Rub a lime wedge around 1/2 the rim of the glass, then dip the rim into the salt. Set the glass aside filled with ice to chill.
Step 2:
Add tequila, lime juice, and orange liqueur to a shaker filled with ice. Shake well until the mixture is well chilled.
Step 3:
Replace the ice in the chilled glass with fresh ice. Strain the mixture into the rimmed glass, garnish with a dehydrated lime wedge and enjoy!
There are many margarita variations, but the classic recipe includes tequila, orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Triple Sec), and fresh lime juice. Some variations include ingredients like fruit purees or syrups or even spices like chilli peppers or cumin.
